Description:
The 2012 3/4 oz Canadian Silver War of 1812 Coin honors a conflict that played an important role in shaping Canada’s history and national identity. Struck by the Royal Canadian Mint, each coin contains three quarters of a troy ounce of .9999 fine silver.
The War of 1812 was fought between the United States and Great Britain from 1812 to 1815. Much of the fighting took place in what is now Canada, and the conflict helped preserve the borders of British North America.
The reverse features a lion and an eagle facing one another while holding a shield decorated with a maple leaf. The two animals represent Great Britain and the United States, while the maple leaf reflects Canada’s place in the conflict.
The obverse displays Susanna Blunt’s portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, along with the country name and face value.
Each coin is offered in Uncirculated condition and comes in protective packaging. Minor contact marks, spotting, or other surface imperfections may be present due to normal mint production and handling. The coin’s silver weight and purity are guaranteed by the Royal Canadian Mint.
