The 2019 1.5 oz Australian Bottlenose Dolphin Silver Coin celebrates one of the South Pacific’s most intelligent and adaptable marine animals. Struck by The Perth Mint, the coin features a detailed wildlife design and contains 1.5 troy ounces of .9999 fine silver.
The obverse displays Jody Clark’s right-facing portrait of Queen Elizabeth II wearing the George IV State Diadem. The design also includes the coin’s face value and issuing details.
The reverse features two bottlenose dolphins leaping above the ocean. These social animals often travel in pods and are known for their advanced communication, cooperative hunting, and ability to learn from one another.
Each coin is offered in Brilliant Uncirculated condition and comes individually packaged in protective plastic. The same dolphin design was also released in 2019 on fractional gold and platinum coins.
